    Making a difference: Bonang to open a primary school in Soweto

    Bonang Matheba,32, is one of the most famous women in all of South Africa. The renowned star has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade and over the years, she has achieved a lot of success in the entertainment domain.

    In a past interview with Trending SA, Queen B as she is affectionately called by her fans mentioned that she is looking forward to building a school.

    “I want to involve a lot of South Africans because I am South African. I see me in the form of a school or a university. I want to be remembered not for frivolous things. What is the purpose of having all of these good things if it’s not going to change someone’s life? When I started the house of BnG, I was like I want to be a billionaire and bring all that money home. If the Motsepe’s are doing it, I can also do it” she said at the time.

    It seems like her dream is coming true, taking to Twitter, the beauty said that her dream to build a school might happen.

    In June, Queen B shared a tweet that she was certain of her dream of eventually being able to build a school. “I’ve always wanted to build a school. Seems like it’s actually gonna happen.”

    In an interview with TshisaLIVE recently, Bonang expressed how she felt it was her country’s duty to “My late grandmother used to live in Soweto hence I want the school there. I am very fond of that place because she lived there.”

    She explained that the reason she wanted to build a primary school was that she had always dreamed of becoming a teacher, but the media world called her instead.

    “I am surrounded by a lot of teachers. My one aunty is a primary school teacher, my mother is a former teacher and my father is a lecturer at the University of Limpopo.”

    Bonang added that after turning 30 she realised that “God gives to you so that he can give through you” and she didn’t want to just be a powerful influential person.

    “It will be a private school but open to the public where no one will have to pay. It will be a community-driven school where community people will get to work at the school as well as mothers in the area.”

    Bonang explained that through her various platforms she will make sure she makes girl’s lives easier and plans to do so through opening the primary school.
