• Sir Elton John: Stallone and Gere nearly fought for late Princess Diana

LONDON – Famous musician Sir Elton John has revealed that two prominent actors Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere nearly fought over Princess Diana.

John revealed Diana’s charm towards the two well-known actors, confirming the late Princesses’ effect on gentlemen.

According to the Metro UK website, the 72-year-old singer shared an anecdote from his upcoming memoir where Gere and Stallone almost got into a fistfight over the late Princess of Wales.

According to the English website, the incident happened at a London dinner party held for former Walt Disney Studios chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Elton was working on music for the 1994 film The Lion King at the time and attended the party with his partner David Furnish, PEOPLE reports.

“Straight away, Richard Gere and Diana seemed very taken with each other,” the Rocket Man singer wrote.

“I couldn’t help [but] notice a strange atmosphere in the room. Judging by the kind of looks he kept shooting them, Diana and Richard Gere’s newly blossoming friendship wasn’t going down well with Sylvester Stallone at all.

“It transpired that he’d discovered Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere in the corridor, squaring up to each other, apparently about to settle their differences over Diana by having a fistfight.”

The incident happened when Diana was separated from Prince Charles at the time and Richard had ended his relationship with Cindy Crawford, Mirror UK reports.

It is reported that the man also known as Rambo, attended the dinner with the sole purpose of having to meet and romance the late Princess.

According to the Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me singer, Diana and Richard continued to chat well into the evening.

However, when it was time for dinner Elton recalled guests noticed that both Richard and Sylvester had disappeared so he asked his partner David to go and find them.

The Rocky star reportedly stormed off after the incident while Diana was none the wiser and according to the legendary musician, Princess Di and Gere resumed their chat by the fireplace for the rest of the evening.
